BOOK REVIEW : THE CATCHER IN THE RYE

The Catcher in the Rye is set around the 1950s and is narrated by a young man named Holden Caulfield. Holden is not specific about his location while he’s telling the story, but he makes it clear that he is undergoing treatment in a mental hospital or sanatorium. The events he narrates take place in the few days between the end of the fall school term and Christmas, when Holden is sixteen years old.
This book by J.D Salinger is an age based novel. Your view about it will change if you are re-reading it.
It is an american classic and it is a good book for teenagers because they can connect to the character but if someone is reading it after their teenage years are over you won't like it at all infact you can also find it a bit irritating.
As the main character uses the word,"phony," we can safely use it and say that you might too find the character phony and would just wish that he stops talking!

PERSONAL VIEW- If you are a teenager we would gladly tell you to go on and read the book and if not we would like to say,"At your own risk."
