There are just some books which are beyond your expectation and this book was as such for me. I never thought a book mentioned as a children book would fascinate me so much.
Stella Starflake Pearl,the protagonist, wants to be an explorer just like her father only girls are not allowed to be explorers, but her destiny takes a turn and she finds herself on an adventure with three other junior explorers.
The writing is simple and fluid, I just couldn't keep this book down. It is full of adventure, unbelievable creatures and magic[if you believe in it ;) ] All the characters are very well written, there is no fault in this book that I could find.
Stella, is a strong female character so necessary for children to get to know, especially the bond she shares with her father, we don't see that often. There are good values in this book for children to adapt. This book made me laugh a number of times, the sarcasm level is amazing.
I loved this book so much that I immediately shoved my copy of this book to my friends and thankfully they loved it too! So, all I am saying is read it to get a breath of fresh air from your life, get lost in the ice lands and leave your worry behind and lastly, if you believe in magic then definitely pick this book up.
