BOOK REVIEW : UNLOCKED SILENCES

Author : Mukhpreet Khurana

" You have what it takes to hold on,
and ironically, the same power to let go.
                Set yourself free.
                For once, get lost."

This book is a collection of poems and extracts, written in simple English which truly helps in understanding the meaning clearly. So the book is divided in two different parts, each of which is beautiful in it's own way but I think that I am at a certain stage in my life where the,"New Beginning," section really resonated with me.

Some of my favourite lines from various poems are,

  •   "For it all comes down to the choices we make, and our acceptance in the choices that make us."
  • "You will stumble-don't walk but dare to crawl.Don't fear the fall. This is not the end. This is the beginning.Just hold on and believe."
  • "Find yourself in the journeys they pulled you back from, destinations they never told you about. This is your time.Trust me,tomorrow never comes.Your time is now."
If any of these lines speak to you then do pick this book up.
Overall I found the poems to be more on the motivational side but I have no issue with that, because I feel it has something which will resonate with you on every stage of your life. There are so many lines which I truly loved and have marked to read again in the future. I really think the author-poet has done a great job, his words really come through the barrier of pages.

My Verdict- 4/5
